Good morning all.

It`s 10:00 a.m. and coffee break time here for me.  A good time to pop in for "roll call."

Last week was nuts.  Got most things on my list of projects/goals completed.  Ended up spending a great deal of time "herding designers" as the deadline for submissions for my new book is tomorrow.  With 100+ designers invited to submit identity re-design projects it has taken much more time than I anticipated to answer emailed questions.

This week I need to:

• Complete the art work request to go with the article being written about me for the site Right Brain Reader.

• Meet the deadline of tomorrow for art submissions for a Spainish design book.  Thankfully I can email my art work.

• Meet the deadline of tomorrow for me to complete my next Logo Notions article for the site CreativeLatitude.com

• Prepare a press release about the feature about me in HOW Magazine - one of the major design industry publications in the world.  I hear that some subscribers have received the issue - but I haven`t seen the finished product yet.

• Continue to work on completing the identity projects for Our House of Portland and a medical spa client.

• Begin concepting the logo designs for two theatrical productions: Tonya & Nancy: The Opera and a musical called Bark!

•  Work on my book - a lot!

That seems like more than enough for right now.  Of course, there are a few social obligations thrown in to the mix as well.

What are your 5 favorite musical artists/bands? (Fun question, Chris)

1.)  Probably my most favorite musical group is the local band Pink Martini.  A long-time friend, Thomas Lauderdale, is pianist for the group.  It`s kind of funny - they are much more popular in France than anywhere else.

2.) Jacqui Naylor is another of my favorites and someone I also know personally.  I met her a few years ago at the wedding of friends down in Sayulita, Mexico.  She`s an amazing vocalist

3.) Pepe and the Bottle Blondes is another favorite local band.  I met Pepe a long time ago and recently had a great visit with one of the Bottle Blondes on a flight back from San Diego.

4.) Big fan of the New Orleans group The Iguanas.  They played at a party at the annual HOW Design Conference in N.O. a few years ago.

5.) Dimitri from Paris is music I listen to a lot while I work.

Have a great week! Time to get back at it...

- J.

My goals:
Get orders out
Send out a newsletter & create a press release
Revamp web site a bit
Organize office better (just put in new closet shelving - woohoo!)
Hire help
Come up with more dip flavors

If my goals seem the same as last week it`s because I didn`t get much done last week aside from a few really important things.

Favorite bands: There are sooo many, but if I had to choose 5 I`d choose... The Darkness, NoFX, Dokken (lol, good summertime memories), System of a Down, Queen

What a mix, eh? I`m an odd, odd girl. I like my music heavy a lot of times, but I also like classical, country, oldies, and dance. The heavy stuff is my favorite though. I think it`s because I used to play drums.

Chris... A fellow drummer? I was once a professional musician (signed label and all) as a drummer. I never play any more... unless you call beating on my steering wheel as I drive down the road. I really miss having the sticks in my hands.

My goals are completely unorganized at this moment, and the music I have been into lately is old school funk. I am sooo out of the loop with music now days.

Ha ha!!!  I`m getting in on the role call on Monday!

Bands/Musicians First (Based upon who gets played in my car most often) - Josh Groban, Frank Sinatra (gotta respect the Frank people!), Wham (a guilty pleasure from my much much younger years),  Cool and the Gang (oh yes, I`m all over the map here) and last but not least since you asked for artists and not Sountracks (which would put Wicked way up there), Toby Keith.  All of these have been played numerous times over the past 6 months....

Now as for what I have to do this week

#1 priority - call people (sounds familiar, I know).

#2 priority - finish that business plan.  Yes, yes, it should be done (first draft at least), but I step away from it and things change so I go back and revise.  Slowly but surely I`m getting to the end.  Have to finish it in time to submit it for a contest in October...gotta get crackin`!

#3 - type x-ray physics stuff for the hubby.  Yea!  At least it doesn`t focus (thankfully) on cancer like yesterday`s typing material...

#4 - set up meeting with priests, pastors, etc. to tell them about my newlywed financial planning service so that they can recommend them to those getting married in their church.  So far the response by the clergy has be phenomenal...

That should give you all enough food for thought.  :)

Yes, I think so...but then, that`s kind of obvious when I tell you that both the father-daughter dance and my husband`s and my first dance music at our wedding were from his Closer CD, I suppose.  :)

I will be working on the menu for the restaurant this week, mainly design and will leave some blanks for my future chef to fill in.

I will also re-organize my home a bit because my parents will be visiting us next Wednesday.  They don`t travel light at all so I am trying to clean up some spaces for their stuff.

I would like to visit the gym at least 3 times this week - health purpose.  I sleep better at night when I exercise regularly (this is related to heart valve issue)

My favorite musical artists / bands - Elton John, Josh Gorban (right on, MeLissa!),Duran Duran (I am not a drummer but I can play "Hungry like a Wolf"; learned that back in high school.); Sarah Brightham and Hayley Westenra (whose voice is as beautiful as an angel!)

Hello everyone!  I`m Chris, and my goals this week are to finalize the integration of the Customer Resource Management application with my CREloaded store.  When that is complete I will finalize the order and inventory exports into Quickbooks and be well on my way to having a solid framework for my online store.

I work full time for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, and I am also a full time business student.  I have the itch to get my toes wet, and who knows if the water is nice I may just take a dip :)

I would like to thank everyone for sharing their experiences with the rest of us, it feels awesome to know there are so many good people out there willing to help the little guys succeed, Thanks Everyone!
