Hi everyone,

I need some feedback on the use of a quit claim deed.

Can this deed be used for the transfer of ownership of an existing business even though it does not have real estate backing the transaction? It leases its space.

You might want to check with an attorney on this.  I was just told that a sole proprietorship does not have a business to sell--just the existing merchandise, displays, etc.  Only a corporation or limited liability partnership/corp. has a business to sell (weird to me).  Keep us informed of what you find out and if I find out more, I`ll let you know too.

Thanks for the insight.  I have this topic posted under the angel investors catagory too and have been getting some good feedback.  You might want to check it out.  The business I want is in Oregon and so there`s much more involved since I currently live in Nevada.  Even with a corp in Nevada, I still have to deal with establishing in Oregon once my project is completed.
