You're question is a little confusing? I believe Authorize.net is your gateway, then you have some shopping cart software integrated on the site, and then you need a merchant account with your local bank...

As far as linking them all together, you will need to check with your shopping cart software/gateway.

Nope! Authorize.net and your software isn't your
merchant account. Like the previous poster shared
you can get one through your bank.

Over all a merchant account is the vehicle that collects
the monies for you. Right now you have the "checks"
but with no place to "deposit" them. Laughing

Be careful with your local bank, most if not all banks do not do start up companies for merchant accounts, and if they do they will shut you off for no reason. You can use authorize.net for any online merchant account. Let me know if I can help.
