How much it is useful from SEO point of view to create Profiles on different communities and then promoting it to get back-link for my website?

It depends on the PR and authority of the community of the website. It contains some weightage for SERP.

 I completely agree with bloomtools, profile backlinks are depends on the PR and authority of the community of the website.

depends, some communities allow do follow links while others do not. link juice will only pass on do follow websites.

PR means nothing at all, no idea why people still think it does. There are many things you must take into consideration here.

 * Are the sites ad free ?

 * Are the sites social validated ?

 * Are the sites full of spammers ?

 * Is the content "RELATED" to your website ?

These are just a few factors involved. Now if you plan on dropping links on sites like the SpaMarketers say you should then I would think twice. Banned accounts often get reported when a site is monitored.

I own an internet marketing forum and I have those that try to "drop links" on the profiles. These morons last about 10 minutes and they are deleted, reported, and blacklisted.

You must keep in mind the sites that you are trying to get links from spend time and money keeping the site clean. Do not follow those moron so-called experts and gurus that tell you to spam every web 2.0 property online.

If you are going to have profile links at sites then login and "Participate" in that site on a daily basis. You are giving them content by making comments, post on a blog, and etc.. in return they are giving you a backlink....

 It's give and take and never abuse..

 Exactly. It completely depends upon the PR and authority of the website.

These links enhance your search ranking  and give you a well placed position in the first page of Google.
