Would like to know if anyone is happy with their provider for product/business liability insurance? I currently have Hartford and they have messed up too much in the last 6 months with my account and I am ready to change, this week! Don`t have a lot of time to research all that`s out there. And would prefer "word of mouth" referral. Let me know if you like who you have taking care of your business?

Thanks,

Cindy

I don`t know if your`re specifically looking for insurance companies.  I`ve used American Family for 20 years on my personal assets.  This is the case as well with my insurace of liability and commercial business car insurance.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Hello People of Wisdom!

I have a kitchen tool, it is patented and the name trademarked. I need to obtain Product Liability Insurance and I am having a devil of a time finding something online. I am located in the U.S. and plan to sell my product through retailers, both nationally and internationally. Any good, reputable insurance companies out there? Or at least a good way to source them? My efforts lead me to poorly designed websites that I cannot make sense of, or ones that do not seem to offer a category for my product.

Kitchen tool, plastic and metal, hand-held, no electrical components

Thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide.

We asked for references from people like us and we contacted our personal insurance agents for leads ... after a week of reviewing and deciding on what`s best and who we liked dealing with, we`ve gone with The Hartford (with an inside sales agent we got to via USAA).
None of this came about by filling in an online form; it`s more than how old are you what`s your death worth ... like with everything, you have to keep saying, no I don`t want to insure my dog from flea bites with this policy; it`s a most interesting requirement to say the least (e.g., we have to cover specific retail brands with certificates and other WTF kinds of things).

Thank you Leslie, I will call them for a quote!

Tiger, I will check out The Hartford too. I did not realize they provided PLI.

Thank you!

I realize this is a bit late, but I think it would be helpful for those who come across this thread - are you looking just at product liability or are you considering professional liability insurance as well? Also, beware that your product liability coverage differs depending on the product, so I would recommend you try to find some free business insurance quotes, as an overall comparison of what policy has the best quality coverage for your product.
