This idea is a consulting business. I think you can find success if you find a niche. More specifically, you should look at becoming an expert for a particular industry, product, or service. That'll make it easier for you differentiate your services and will also add a level of credibility.
Also keep in mind that bringing products "back from the dead" requires a significant capital influx by your clients. I hope you like large numbers... and objections :)

Development in products definitely seems a nice idea as people want change and when served, they do appreciate the effort involved in it. The specialty of the brand must never be changed but bringing in some trendy changes is a must for the market and the public.
Suggesting and getting things improved for better availability of better products and services for the customers is definitely a good approach to start. Applying creativity is the need of time and with everyday changing market, a participation in this field can earn a handsome amount of money.
