I am interested in focusing on product packaging in the early stages of the product design.  My intent is to have product design guidelines that focus on only on the product and its intended use, but also on the packaging.

I have not had much luck finding much with respect to the product design vs. the packaging design.  I am looking for some direction/resources that may be available that I have not been able to locate.

You may be wondering what the product is, I am looking to make this a generic tool/resource that can be used across all products.

Are you speaking about the cardboard types, plastic bubbles, etc. that contain your product vs. the artwork that gets printed on them?
