Hey everyone,

I just joined StartupNation and am loving the resources available here.

I currently do private party/event bartending as a sort of hobby or side-job, and I am looking to take it to the next level and actually create a revenue stream. I have developed a website and outlined a business plan going forward, but I am stuck on coming up with a name!

My first inclination was to include 'Top Shelf' in it (e.g. Top Shelf Entertainment, which is already taken), but I hit a wall in coming up with something a little more personalized.

My biggest caution is that I don't want to limit the growth of this opportunity by the name, so I don't really want to have a name like 'JP Bartending' or anything quite so narrow. Through partnerships I will also be offering services such as cocktail waitresses and professional DJ's.

Thanks to anyone who has any ideas for me!

Why not try to come up with a name that has the benefit in it. Brain storm some ideas like Event Solutions or Entertainment Staff Solutions, Private Party Solutions, Private Events Management etc.. you know your business better than me and what people are looking for.

Then have a slogo that has another benefit in it like "Your Private Event Management Solved" (that's kinda naff but you get the picture?)

Learn from my mistakes!  This is the perfect opportunity

for you to create a name that starts with "A".  By having

your business name start with "A" you will lead in most

listings.  Including phone book, sponsorships, convention

listings, service render guest program, etc.  If it can not

begin with "A" get it as close to the begining of the alphabet

as possible.

Second, make it short and to the point.  The longer it is

the more you pay!  Say you want to have your company

name embroidered on shirts, they charge by the letter.

Your name on a sign, again by the letter.  Not to mention

limited space when filling out your name on any form.

Third, your right DO NOT include your name or any name

within the company.  The only way you can then ever

consider selling the business would be to sell it with your

name.  That means your name is floating around and has

ties to a business you have no control over.

Some name suggestions:

A+ Tapsters

Bartenders and More

BarTrenders

Very best to you!

Try to make the name special and unique. That way it separates your business from the rest.

great idea! i am guessing you are relying on word of mouth more so that advertising/marketing? if so any name is fine. if you want to be found through searches, i recommend building a website first of all. you also want your name to be self explanatory of your offering since searchers will have 3 seconds or less to make a decision whether to read your stuff further

A song name or lyric is what I'm thinking!

Actually I need your advice though. I'm a new bartender and so is my best friend and we actually have a few bartending gigs coming up and I really want to make it a small business for the two of us. I was already thinking of logos and ideas but where do we start to make it legal, or what did you do?

Please message me back ! :)
