I have a new idea that I want to do some primary market research.  But I do not even know where to begin.  How and what things do I need to research for a new invention?  Any useful information will be greatly appreciated.

First, are you sure it is an invention? have you at least researched the PTO to make sure it is not there already? There are hundreds of inventions that were never commercialized for one reason or another.

If it is an invention and you want to find out if there is a market for this new product, you should read on of SuN`s articles on the subject
