Hi everyone,

I am working on putting a press kit together for the media.  The angle for my story is that my ending up to point of having to have surgery and apply for disability made me realize what was wrong with my life and change it to create KA Coaching.  I am not sure how to organize this story into a press release to get the press`s attention.  Please advise.

HI Katt,

Here are some sites I found that will help you.  The last three contain more detailed step by step type of information.  Good luck.

Hi Katt,

Once you have your press release ready (also look at the samples at www.prweb.com and www.prnewswire.com), I would suggest calling targeted media members directly via phone prior to announcing it  (see http://www.startupnation.com/steps/77/steps-successful-publi c-relations.htm for details).

This way, you can introduce yourself, give your pitch, offer yourself as an expert and start a media relationship before your "news" goes live to the public.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Melanie

Thank You.  I am also considering writing to P.R./Marketing firms, once I have a sponsor proposal ready, to see if they can sponsor a campaign and fundraising event.
