So here's an interesting question for you entrepreneurs out there ...

I've been an active investor for several years and observe market trends very closely.  From my perspective, the world economy cannot do anything except completely TANK at some point in the near future, probably the next 2 or 3 years (or sooner).  The reason I say this is the stress that financial institutions created in the derivatives market over the past twenty years cannot be undone with any amount of legislation at this point ... our economy is one based on debt alone, and spending ourselves out of problems, and no longer anything tangible.

I honestly believe the troubles following the US abroad in European and Asian markets will inevitably lead to one thing ... FAILURE.

So here's my question.  Let's say worst comes to worst and our currency becomes even more meaningless than it is at this moment.  What will you do to survive?  What kind of business do you want to be in during the end of this world's economy?  I'd like to talk specifics ... let's avoid generalities by saying "food clothing and shelter."  What would you DO to offer those things in a practical way, perhaps even under a barter type arrangement?

I honestly believe we're going to be bartering our way along at some point ...

So that's what I want to know.  What business could we pursue now that will become profitable both in our current economic climate, or in NO CLIMATE whatsoever?

Well, I was in a good mood jamming out to some Myley Cyrus until reading this post. Just kidding.

Maybe home security. If everyone is going to be animals and try to survive, security will be important.

People will always pay for a cup of coffee. I bet there's a Starbucks in Hell - probably one on every malebolge. I figure my café will be a safe bet in any economy. If the economy goes to Hell, I'll just open shop there with it.

People always need to eat. They also need to feel good. As we move away from the current system of debt money it will be the green organic and sustainable businesses and DIY green energy living solutions that really take off among others.

definitely wholesaling. if the rescession goes further, retailers and distributors want to cut out mid men, get items directly from source to increase their profit margin. The online wholesaling will boost.

that is an obvious trend.
