I've been researching on different payroll systems for my small business its an LLC with S Corp election, run by my partner and I. Since we are the only two in the company we will also be W2 employees and need to pay ourselves. Ive pretty much eliminated intuit payroll system because of the information I have been reading about it and of course because we are bootstrapping cost is a major issue. We might bring in a third employee soon.

What does everyone here use for payroll and would you recommend it for my situation?

We provide professional support services to the federal government as a contracting company.

I have Bank of America, since i have all employees open or use a B of A account i get all my payroll done for $15 a month... they do all the reporting and even direct deposits

When you say "Certified Accountant," do you mean an accounting certificate from one of those technical career schools?

I have an A.A.S in Accounting.  I have thought about going back to get my CPA, but for what I do, a CPA isn't really needed. At this point in the game I have no desire in learning about corporate tax or financial analysis.

ARE YOU PLANNING DO PAYOLL WEEKLY OR BY-WEEK. WILL YOU PAY YOU BY HOUR OR SALARY?

Keep in mind that the paycycle is regulated in some states.  For example, in Mass., you must pay hourly workers weekly.   I seem to remember that other states have set a floor as to how much someone can earn as a 'salaried' vs. hourly worker. 

I have not done a nationwide payroll project in some time, so I am not up on all the regs outside of NY, NJ, CT and PA as I once was.

Intuit purchased an online service previously known as PayCycle, now relabled Intuit Online Payroll.  I've used them for over a year, and have been pleased with its ease of use and service.  It cost $28 per month for the basic service, they give you a month free, and two moths after that at a reduced ($9.95) rate.  Those prices do not include State electronic filings nor State electronic tax payments (about $20 more per month per State).
