Does anyone else have this trouble? I connect to SuN sometimes by wireless, sometimes DSL, and occationally T1. But I seem to get "hang up" or maybe bandwidth problems.

Example: Once I have read a post, then respond to the post. Click the "Post Reply" or "Post New Topic" button. The indicatior "Waiting for www.startupnation.com..." is shown (very bottom on boarder of browser window). And nothing else happens. It just acts like it is thinking forever.

If I refresh the page (which sometiimes takes a couple of "clicks" on the refresh button) copy and past my comment into a window just after it loads, I rarely have this problem.

It also occurs occationally as I just try to access SuN.

I think it`s a bandwidth problem... But if everyone is having this issue, maybe SuN should know so it can be improved.

Anyone else?

I have had my browser stall after hitting submit, but when my browser comes back to life my post is posted where it is supposed to be!

I`ve checked and my browser stops responding - I`m no networking wiz but a bum connection should not make my browser stop responding...it may take longer to download some sites, but I haven`t lost a connection.

The edge of the browser window says... "Transferring data from imatter.startupnation.com"

I have no idea who imatter is.

From the sounds of it, its just taking a little time to transfer the datar equired to whatever backend app SuN uses.  The thing with network connections are there are  tons of variables that could affect the connection speed, from data quanitity to your own ISP.  There are a million bridges between here and there so it if there haven`t been many complaints about this transfer time, it either doesn`t bother many users, or doesn`t affect many users.  I realize thats not really any help, but hey knowing is half the battle right!

We are currently doing some infrastructure updates to increase the performance of the website.  These should take affect in the next couple weeks.

The slow posting issue is one that we are aware of and is directly tied to how we process all the forum notifications that people receive.  Right now the system processes the notifications during the actual posting of the message, which does slow it down.  We are looking to implement much more streamlined and customizable forum notifications (as well as how the system processes them).  Our web team is running at maximum capacity with all the upcoming feature enhancements for our members on the site...but the speed and performance of the site takes highest priority.

Thanks for your patience and please bear with us as we get the "turbo" installed on the site!

Thanks Brian (SuN Team). I posted this questions because I was trying to determine if the trouble was my computer or the system.

Bthomd, Your responce posts were making me feel like it was not my computer. THat was good. I will just chaulk it up to interent bandwidth.

Thanks for your comments.

I will wait a couple weeks and see if it improves.
