We recently opened our online store and would love to have your feedback.

We are operating on a shoe-string budget and did everything ourselves.

Thanks so much!

Hi Dorez!

For a first run, it's a good start. It's not as polished and professional as a good designer could create, but it's nowhere near the worst I've seen in self-created fashion sites (I do a lot of work in and with the fashion industry, so I've seen a lot).

What kin of feedback are you looking for? Feedback on photos, overall layout, User interface, or all of the above (or something else)?

Thing is, when we are starting out, like you are, there will always be A LOT of room for improvement, so sometimes it's good to focus in on one thing at a time to get feedback and improve.

I love the styles of your garments. While I'm not a BBW, I keep an eye on the market. Did you design and make those yourself?

First, I want to apologize for taking so long to reply to your message.

Thanks so much for your compliments about the designs.  My daughter

(Anna) is the designer and I handle mostly the business side of things.

We have been working on a new collection for our clothing line.  We've

finally finished it and did a photo shoot (with a professional photographer this time),

and we're in talks with potential investors.  So things are definitely looking up.

In response to your suggestions... I think you're definitely right about us narrowing

our focus concerning the website.  So for now, if you would be willing to visit the site

again, we'd like to focus on the front page.  Plus,  we'd like to know about the user-interface.

I sure do appreciate whatever feedback you can give!

Thanks,

Dorez

Hi Dorez,

Not a bad website for doing it all yourself! I also like the look of the product as well.  The plus size clothes look pretty good.  Some advice I would give maybe to:

-Put actual products for sale on the homepage (maybe even really feature one product)

-The contact being Los Angeles and Location being Chicago is kind of confusing

-I would move "The Collection" and "Blog" buttons to the top bar.  Try to keep all buttons located in place / flowing together

-maybe add some video (maybe showcase some of the design process or a runway show)

-Maybe add something on the home page like live updates or an email newsletter sign up or something that will engage the visitor a little more then just one big picture

You have a great start and it sounds like 2012 should be an exciting year for you.  Best of luck in your clothing line adventures!

Thanks for the information. Currently I Shop for extra large sizes from shopping India portal Shoppers Stop. Quite satisfied with it as they have stuff from clothes to accessories on one site and I have to just select the stuff and pay them online and they deliver it to my address. Anyways, I will consider your site to when I have to shop next time.

Just few years back, it wasn't that easy to buy trendy plus-size clothing, because the choice were limited. However, these days, with the help of internet, it has become very easy to buy latest and variety of plus-size clothing from all over the world.

It is an impressive graphic. Probably cost a lot, but  a) it is hard to see and recognize at first and  b) slows your site loading too much (first load was several seconds). You  have 5 seconds to SELL people on your site and products and competitive advantage, but your graphic is not even finished loading by then.

It has inadequate contrast.  The link letters are too hard to see -  don't do  grey on grey.  It is almost  as  irritating as it is kind of interesting and stylistic.

We are professionals and constantly warn against trying to be too sophisticated looking without much information and not showing the product, nor showing it in use.

Install StatCounter and study your actual traffic and pathways.  It might not work if they leave before it finishes loading.

To us the products themselves look nice but the presentation is just a notch or two down from a medium-high end fashion site.   You need more variety in models.

We see no compelling policy on fit or returns, etc.  Things like time in business or some successes would be good.

We agree with the other commenter that a walk-on or short videos or even slide show would be better than the slow, all grey  mysteriouis (WHAT IS IT!!) graphic, and the name of the site/company??  is just odd.

Suggest you do some appeals testing and perhaps a style-introduction survey (market research) page or site.

Business-wise  -  you are doing   small fashion shows,  eh, like at events or malls?

Good luck.
