Thanks for the feedback.  I like the suggestion about creating a top ten list, but I don`t have a way to manage a large number of user emails.  Is there a service or some software that you could recommend?

Yes, you need to look into permission based marketing program. There are services such as Constant Contact, Intellicontact and MailerMailer that can help you capture and manage E-mails.

Using those services, you can put a very brief form on your home page and any emails entered will be automatically added to your list. Then you can stay in touch with those folks and build a long-term business relationship.

The services also automatically manage "bounces" unsubscribes, etc. And yoy get a host of reports so you can track the effectiveness of your campaigns.

Hope that helps.

I`d take a look at how to create Alias names under a master name on your domain. The aliases all basically come to the main name, then you`ll use something like Thunderbird, Eudora, or even Outlook (if you have to) to set up individual mailboxes for each alias, and a "rule" to transfer the correct emails.

This is like the use of PO Box numbers in the mail-order business. You have customers write to Box 123 if they`re on the East Coast. Or to Box 456 if they`re in the Midwest, Box 789 if they`re out west, and so forth.

By using aliases and rules, you can separate out your email into groupings, making it easier to handle. So you would have "info" and "sales," "support," "customer.service," and so on.

A subscription management package would handle newsletter and flyer distribution, and automate the "join" "unjoin" process, just as Dan suggested. Your shopping cart should handle logins, remembering customers and provide you data so you could automatically email them about specials and deals. A professional Web master can help you with all that.

Anybody have experience with Google Analytics?  I just recently installed the code on my site.  Did you find it of value increasing traffic to your site?  I was just curious if this was of value for very small sites.
