I`m usually the last person to suggest a "pretty looking site", but for graphic design, I`d expect to see a little more flair and elegance on sites who proclaim to be in the graphics media business.
The person most likely coming to your site is wanting something that gives them a `great look` and would expect to see more from you on the creative side -- not the simple side. Your rationale may make complete sense to you, but probably not to your `target audience`.
I do understand your goal for trying to keep it simple, but could it be elegant and simple at the same time
I would at least test the `simple` concept you`re attempting to do now against a more `elegant` looking site and let the "conversions" determine what is right for your site. We can try and figure it out ourselves, and you`ll probably get 50 different answers from 50 different people...but through testing, your sales/leads will indicate to you what works best.
I think it looks plain. I`m looking for a designer and as a customer it does not grab my attention. Maybe more color or graphics. I`m sure you do great work, but it was hard to tell by the site.
