Hello,

Looking for some feedback as to our website.  We specialize in the professional design and installation of high quality garage organization systems.  We started this business in the fall of last year and have been ramping up for this spring.  This site has been a huge help to us. Looking for some honest feedback as to our site, and content.

Thanks,

Erin

Hi, neighbor  :)

To me, the main page upper fold is very positive. You have a nice, clear image showing what you offer, with enough text around it to help get your message across quickly. Your other pages are clearly written, and get your point across easily.

I do notice a few display issues.
1) Your menu seems to change with each page, like you`re leaving out the link for the current page? Personally I would rather see it the same on every page.
2) Your main page is sized much wider than the others; here the menu seems complete, and you allow room for the main image, but throws off the overall consistency. ( More of a personal thing for me )
3) In Firefox, your menu links blink, which is annoying, but they don`t in IE.
4) The main text blocks of the index page seem to center on the left side differently between IE and Firefox.

Your code could be cleaned up and optimized. For example, your menu links have double font tags, some links have " %20 ", tons of tables, etc. Some good basic SEO would help.

I agree with everything that WebLine said, plus...  I don`t like that the appearance of the home page is different from all the other pages.  In fact, the home page is the only one that needs work.  For example, you use all bold text in the body and it crowds the border.  You need more whitespace there.

Also, I am actually in the market for a similar product, but I don`t have the slightest clue where "In Michiana" is located?  Is it a county?  Is it in Canada, Australia or the USA?  Remember, it`s called the WORLD Wide Web.

Those garages are nicer than my kitchen - a lot nicer!  :)

Overall the site looks good.

I noticed when I clicked on the thumbnail of the workbench cabinets (and some others) on your products page, it took me to a different site.  I saw that it was still for your business but it felt like a completely different website.  I thought at first I was taken to the manufacturer`s website.  It`s kind of jarring and I think the look, feel and navigation of EVERY PAGE should be consistent.

Also, I saw that you did link to manufacturer`s sites in some places (like the flooring page).  Personally, I`d rather hear you sound like you know what you`re doing, rather than letting the manufacturer`s site do it for you.  You already list some of the benefits but then linking away makes it sound like you`re saying, "Don`t believe me?  Go here to see."  I want to believe you off the bat, don`t make me doubt you.

Also, think about your clients.  Do they care about every detail of the flooring?  Probably not.  And if they did, I bet they`d be resourceful enough to figure out how to learn more.  Linking to manufacturer`s sites in my opinion is giving too much information to the point of overwhelming people who might not care in the first place.  And I didn`t look at the flooring sites, but what if they sell there own products?  You`d be leading people to competition.

The term  " Michiana " is a combination if Michigan and Indiana; it is a common  phrase for the northern Indiana/southwestern Michigan area.

Thanks for the insight.  I will start working on some of the suggestions right away.
Webline.  I will address the menu bar issues and make them consistent on each page.  I will also make each page the same width for consistency.  Do you suggest using the same exact top graphic on each page.  As for the code and table issues I may need help from a professional like you to help address those in the near future.  I kind of backwards taught myself frontpage.

Videography, already made some changes to the main page.  Thanks

Camp Steve, Those thunbnails of the workbench cabinets do take you to the manufacturers site.  I have had some indecision as to continuing to add more content and pages because of the depth on information available.  Would you suggest I make a simple page for each topic under products, and If so how should I direct them to get in depth information.  There is a ton of product information and ideas on redlinegaragegear.com our corporate site.  We are one of their 67 independent dealers.

Thanks so much for taking the time to look at our site and for all the suggestions.  I will start working to address them right away.

You could use a different image for each page, to show different set ups and styles your company is capable of doing, but again, think about consistency in size and width for the images.
