Hi,
My name is Jill Leech and I have been working on launching my start up business PottytTots LLC, for almost two years!  Today was a milestone as our website went LIVE on the web.  www.pottytots.com

I have learned so much from the Start Up Nation community and would really value the SUN members` input on how we can improve the website (content, user friendliness etc..) and what you may like about our site.

If you have young children, I would really love to hear if they like the site, if they are able to navigate the Just For Tots page and if they are singing along with the Potty Tots!

There is also a place to post your "potty humor" and tips that have worked from Real moms (and dads)!

Thanks so much in advance for helping us to develop the best website we can!

Jill, love the website! I think it`s a great idea. Although my children are beyond potty training ages, I can see how they would have liked your program.

In terms of potential improvements to the site, here are a few ideas:
  • Trust Elements
As a parent, "trust" is important in interacting with any website related to my kids. To that end, you should consider adding some "trust elements" to the site. This would include things such as a Better Business Bureau logo, industry association seals of approval, a privacy policy, and contextually relevant customer testimonials throughout the site.
  • Text in Images
Overall I think your website looks great. It might help, though, to make the text in your home page images larger and more legible. For example, even with 20/20 vision I have a difficult time reading all the text within the home page images for Miss Maggie, Spotlight and your products without squinting.
  • Content
Consider adding more content to your site so that prospective customers see it as a real potty training resource. This will get them coming back to your website over and over. A great example of this is the Pampers` website: "Let`s Talk Potty Training." One potential content idea for your site would be to host a forum for parents to discuss their potty training experiences, helping each other through the process.
Hope that this is helpful.

Thank you so much for this excellent advice!  There is always room for improvement and I really appreciate you taking the time to review our site and offer specific suggestions for us to make this site better.  I agree with all that you have written.  We do have a Parent`s forum in our future plans.  I know how much this forum has helped me in starting up a company and I really want to help parents throught the potty training process.  A forum is the best way to not feel alone in any endeavor!
We are a brand new company and I will take your advice about the BBB and other seals of approval. We have sample kits out to customers for testimonials so we should have those up as soon as some of our "test tots" master the art of the potty!
Thank you so much!
