Well, I`m not a web designer by trade, but it`s very simple and it has a 1993/94 feel to it.  I look for a visually appealing site when I`m shopping.

I agree with villarrealsj.  It`s basic.  Maybe a bit more pizazz.  But then again, I am not a web designer either.

On the technical side ... you have to change the product images.
The current ones are saved as Windows Bitmaps .. thats a big no no.
They are coming in at 560K .... thats huge. I saved one as a GIF using 32 colors, and got it down to 38K. I would work on that first.
Good luck  Jeff

My two cents.

When someone posts a request here to have his/her website criticized, I don`t expect only web designers to reply. Actually, I believe someone using a customer mindset should reply. Obviously technical feedback is welcome as well.

Anyway, I don`t know how to say it nicely, so I will just shoot. I don`t like your site at all. It`s beyond basic. I am sure you could do a much better job by using a free template or even a cheap one.

The big image on top saying "Home" is uncessary.
You could use a bit of CSS to make the text more appealing and the links more subtle, but still clearly links.

Anyway, I would simply start from scratch.

Again, I apologize if I sound too harsh, but I think that`s why we are here, right?! To receive critics that are for our own benefit.

Good luck.

I would like to expand on the previous words of a dated looking site. The site might function perfectly, but having an old look will make people weary to buy. It’s like walking into a mechanic’s garage. If everything is clean and cars are being worked on, you feel confident. Then you walk into the lobby or waiting area. If the walls need painted, or the chairs need renewed, you might be less likely to feel comfortable. An updated site look does nothing except make the customer feel comfortable. But isn’t that the goal? Making your customer feel comfortable? I definately think you would benefit from a redesign.

I wanted to see the products on your site or read about them.... I could not click on the word products. It looks like you should be able to.

We are updating our site www.flawlesstans.com  because its out of date and only a year old. We feel we have one chance to make a first impression.

Dear Jeff,

Thank you for your suggestion about the images on the web site. I have reduced the size. http://www.ecsillc.com
