I am in the process of revising my website. I was not happy with what I received from the web designer and I am trying to revise the website but do not know much about website designing.

I sincerely hope you didn`t pay much for a designer to do this. The coding looks like a very rudimentary knowledge of HTML and SEO, and just seeing the pages shows that.

No page titles, descriptive metas, or anything else.
The SEO is almost non-existent, and the little bit that is there is doing no good. The text on the pages runs up against the images, making it look crowded.

The text in the header image is not very clear.

There is very little content on your main page....this is where you will get a viewers attention and interest more than anywhere else. Some content from other pages could be moved here. Different pages have different links along the bottom; these should maybe be placed on their own "Resources" page.

Your site could very well be laid out and optimized better than this.

Hi,

I would advise you get a professional to design your site. It doesn`t look like you`re needing much done and that you`re just needing a simple site.

In your industry, it`s safe to assume that perception is everything, and that site won`t help you much when trying to establish credibility with people who needs your services.

The file sizes of the photographs you have on the site are `HUGE`...which can cause some big download times when people with dial-up connections attempt to open up your site. You can probably get someone to put together a professional looking web site for just a few hundred dollars (if that much).

Also, concerning the domain name --- it`s cute and all, but many people may have a hard time remembering how to spell it when they`re coming back trying to find you, so keep that in mind.

Also, pay the money to get a quality logo, it`ll make the biggest difference in how it`ll make your site look. This guy will make you a logo for $25 bucks:

It`s interesting, to me, reading these types of situations. Someone hires a Web developer, they`re disappointed (often due to poorly skilled developers), then decide to take on the job themselves.

I`m reminded of how people interact with chiropractors.

There are a lot of unskilled chiropractors in the field, only interested in making money. Chiropractics has had an undeservedly bad name and impression to deal with, so even a few bad apples can really do some damage.

So your first experience is with an unskilled chiropractor. But would you then decide to fix your own back?

Another option: Would you go for back surgery through an orthopaedic surgeon?

Or, another option, would you look for a better-qualified professional?

It comes down to researching the qualifications of any professional, before you invest the time and energy into using their expertise. Right?

Your site seems to be down for the moment, so I assume you`re working on it.

These 3 guys have some good advice though - I hope they were able to help you!
