Do you understand the biz card and bizprofile graphic on top?

I asked that because I was thinking about changing it if it did not make sense.

Ah...okay, then sorry for taking it the wrong way.

Here`s the deal: You could divide your site in half, horizontally, and put a line between the business card graphics at the top, and the content section below.

The graphic secition VERY quickly gets across the point of what the site is designed to do. The content section is "overwhelming," in terms of how much written text there is to wade through.

I think what people are saying here---at least what I`m proposing---is that a landing page ought to be a fast summary of what`s the site, why does it exist, what does it offer, and "what`s in it for" the visitor.

Too many sites plunge right in and want someone to get totally involved. Few visitors, first time, have that kind of interest. The interest must be developed, it doesn`t come with the mouse-click.

There`s nothing really wrong with having plenty of text, registrations, and so forth on a site. But it`s not something anyone wants to see in their first visit. I think that`s why so many sites get 4 seconds, then a click-away.

A site, just like a sales person, has to first capture the casual visitor, then *engage* their interest and curiosity. Only after the visitor has a sense of possible *value* will they stop and listen to the pitch.

Ok. As far as content goes I really only have the 5 titles, they I have latest posts then featured cards so when you talk about too much content are you talking about the latest posts and featured cards, i should ace those and change the 5 titles to the 5 benefits I defined earlier?

I see 5 bullet points, about how to operate the site, but I don`t see your five reasons I would benefit: (As you said last page)

5 things my business can do for you.
  1. Increase your visibility locally and in the search engines
  2. Make your content searchable and shareable
  3. Give you tools to network online
  4. Enable your customers to interact and communicate with your more effectivley
  5. Give you the ability to promote yourself
I think that`s my main point. You`ve got this big banner, then big pictures that quickly explain the site. But then you`ve got two areas of red bullets, a big "live support" glyph, and a very long menu of whatever stuff along the side.

Hmm...lemme clarify. Right now, they`re just sitting there, not "convincing" me to do something. What about having them as titles, with 25 words explaining each one, sort of like a Google results listing?

Can`t you just simplify the main page so that it uses the business card 1-2-3, and your five benefits to the user, then structure the site so all the rest of the stuff currently on the main page becomes "drill-down" information?

Why try to have everything all on the front page, is I guess what I`m asking. :-) It just seems that way....too cluttered.
