If a person copies information from another site, then can you really trust them as a business source?

I`m not trying to be a jerk here but for you to say your not flattered in SOME way because your story is soooooo good that somebody wants to use it for their own is just down right
pretentious.
I`ve had it happen over and over again, and still I get a kick out of it, trust me if the BIG boys do it you might as well kiss your idea good bye, yup it happened, legally just to expensive for me to fight the fight...point is people who steal Internet ideas are weak minded and easily bullied out of it cause they don`t have resources. be happy its not the BIG boys.

Hi Jake,
I can see why you would be confused, the pages aren`t the same anymore.  This was almost a year ago and the problem was resolved.  My business was very new at the time and I may have been somewhat naive to all that goes on with competitive business owners.  It was very upsetting to me and I still see it as stealing but it apparantly happens all the time.  You made some great suggestions and comments though.  I think this forum has brought out lots of great information.

I never felt that I was being pretentious, or that my content was sooooooo great, it was just mine, and it was stolen.  I don`t know how that could be considered pretentious.

Try the tab on the left hand side of their Contact Us page.  Your competitor`s phone number is listed.  Or you may call them directly at (816)-272-1895.  Good luck to you.

Archive . org has a wayback machine.  Visit it and try to determine in what month when it was copied to thier site compared to yours.  With info in hand email the site and tell them that you are flattered but it is a violation based on your research and give them the info.  Then ask them to take it down in an email and tell them in the email that you will assume that if you have not heard from them in 7 business days that you will proceed with a DMA (Digital Milinium Act) compliant.  It has worked wonders form me.

I have had articles ripped from me online with other authors names put to the article.  I am flattered if all links pointing back to my sites stay in tact but offended if those are changed.

Make sure all your work has a copywrite on it.

I do think to protect yourself is wise.

I am sorry to hear that someone took your words... As someone who likes to write from the heart, I can only imagine how it feels. I hope you get this worked out.

Aside from that, I have a question. How much did it cost to have your site built? The layout is simple and seems very functional. I am kind of ignorant to the website build world. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
