Hey Startup Nation readers -

If you`re like me and are a fan of Pixar, then you`ll enjoy this article "The 5 Pixar Success Secrets."  It`s an excerpt from the book _100 Great Businesses_.  Pixar always amazes me with the quality of the films they produce.

I think my favorite secret is focusing on the "Main Thing".  It`s so easy to get focused on the non-crucial parts of your business.

Anyway, hope you enjoy this article:

Thanks for sharing smallbiz. I also like the comment on Talent. I truly believe you are only as good as the employees you hire.

I`m a former animator and I can truly relate to all five of those "secrets". I
was at Nickelodeon during their heyday in the 90s and those traits of
company culture are very common in the industry. Nick fostered
creativity in ways that I think many companies in other industries struggle
with. Then again, with a building full of artists, it may be easier to do.
There was always a strong focus on telling good stories and creating
engaging characters (the main thing).

As I now begin to build my own businesses, these traits are something I
am happy to carry with me. Thanks for posting the article. It`s nice to
see it broken down like that. I`ve visited Pixar`s studio before and let me
tell you, it is an animator`s dream!

Does anyone know what type of costs are associated with getting some character animation done?

I need to look into this to add some content to a website I`m beginning to develop.

I have some characters I want to bring to life.

Thanks.
