Hi Nate :-) Cool site...!
I agree with the above, and would add a couple of thoughts, based on my background in the entertainment business. Most people don`t actually think about it, but there`s a tremendous amount of "impression" created by the actual vocal quality of the voice-over talent.
I`d suggest contracting a stronger voice for your front-page video. It`s such an excellent video production, it should have the vocal quality to give it power. Right now, there`s little of that. Even if you know someone with a better performance voice, but they`re not a pro, use them. Male or female...just get the "charisma" quality.
I got the idea immediately. I even got to thinking, "Hey...maybe WE should be doing that!" So your sales pitch works.
Visually, you`ll want to maybe spread out your bullet points, and add actual bullets to the services you offer. (Firefox 2.x here, didn`t see any actual bullet symbols.)
Another theme you might build on a little more would be the water, nautical, and shipping aspect. For example, you`re using "home port," so I assume that in conjunction with the "pilothouse," you`re focusing somehow on boating/shipping?
If not, then there`s a message confusion issue.
Bottom line, I totally like that you have your pricing right there. That`s SUCH a bugaboo of mine, and I hate it when I have to guess, or "contact them" just to find out if I even can afford to move forward. Excellent decision!
The main problem I see with the Portolio is that the first three examples make no sense at all. From what I know, there are two types of video on Web sites. One is like a splash page, basically just eye-candy that does nothing. The other is informational. (There are "avatars," but that`s a special case.)
Your business message is that you transmit and transfer *information* with your videos. But the first three examples on the portfolio page transfer no information at all. Even the fourth is pretty shaky.
In other words, your portfolio is four splash pages, not at all what I expected, and not at all resembling your home page video concept. If you don`t have better examples, I`d suggest just creating some for fictional companies.
Oh...one last thing: I`m on a DSL line, and each click to a different tab involved a lot of redrawing. From what I`ve seen on the Web, there`s no need for that, and it`s distracting. Maybe change your technology so that at least the common elements of each page don`t have to redraw themselves each time. (How, I have no clue, that`s for a developer.) :-)
