Hi there everyone, thanks for taking a look see and jumping over to my page www.serenityphoto.net  I have been working on it for a couple of months and looking around on other people computers to see if it looks as it should on my computer screen. Please let me know how you feel about the site. It is an evolving page and I am willing to make changes to enhance the overall effect to the public.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Tinybubbles,

I just took a quick peek at your site in Firefox on my Mac and saw some issues. Some problems in Safari, too, but not as bad as in Firefox. When your home page loads, I see three photos with some sort of text behind them. There`s also a button that is cut off on the lower left (above the PPA logo).

Next, I tried clicking "Lifestyle," which brought me to yet another page that seems to be a home page, since it says Welcome to Serenity Photo (that`s a little confusing). There`s a large open space that I would assume is supposed to be a photo, but it just shows up as an empty box with black stroke around it. Ditto for clicking on "Portraits" and "Weddings." I expected to be brought to pages specifically about those areas, but they all lead to the same place.

There are some issues on your Talk About! page in which the footer is not where it should be. In fact, it`s up in the August 19 entry.

The last thing I noticed is that on your Testimonials page, in FF, the Q&A link in the top navigation is actually on a separate line. In Safari, all the navigation is on one line.

Anyways, I`m not a web person, so I can`t really explain why some of those things are happening, but I thought I`d point them out. Overall, it`s a very nice photography site - very clean-looking design.

Best of luck!

I also noticed some display issues.
Overall, I like the simplicity and general layout of the site, you just need to eliminate display problems. Some decent SEO would help as well.

Yep, I opened the above link in FireFox 1x, and it looked nice. Then I clicked the lifestyles etc. button, and the whole top half of the monitor was empty white space. I too didn`t get the idea of "Welcome to Serenity..." when I`d already been there, done that.

So for grins, I viewed the page with IE6. There too, I saw mostly a big empty space, but this time with a black line-border around what probably is "something."

In IE, I clicked "The Portfolio," and was distracted as the images cascaded downward, then were completely covered in blue, then were uncovered again in the final display. In FireFox, none of the tabs showed at all, so I couldn`t go to the same page without copying and pasting the URL. I did so, and it loaded faster than IE, and didn`t have the cover-up first. That`s fine, except I wouldn`t have been able to get there at all if I didn`t use IE in the first place.

So all things considered, there seems to be some compatibility work in the near future. I clicked one of the portfolio pics, and in Firefox, got to a page of text and a blank bottom. I would have said that a page of only text on a photography site wouldn`t thrill me. But I clicked the same link on the IE version and got a whole bunch of thumbnails down there. I assume it`s the same problem across the entire site.

Hi there after about 5 hours I have gone through my site working out the navigation details in the page. It would mean a lot to me to have you go through the page one more time till I start filling in the blanks with images.

A question came to me which program that I am using to build this site. It is iWeb 2.0 on my MAC and I understand that it has inherent issues through out the whole web thing from MAC to Windows based computers and also if they are not updated. But I am trying to accomplish to get the large infrastructure under control while I learn Flash and Dreamweaver. So with that said I thank you once again for your valuable input.

Tinybubbles:

I think you`ll have more luck with Flash and Dreamweaver than you have had with iWeb. I`m a die-hard Mac-fanatic, and I`ve never used iWeb, but it looks to me like it is a consumer-based tool, and as such probably not up to the demands of professional website.

My suggestion with your current site would be to make it as simple as possible using iWeb, then spend your time learning Dreamweaver.

Good luck!

Still no tabs at the top, in Firefox, and although it now has a nice big blue "Come on in.." rectangle, it doesn`t do anything. It isn`t clickable, and stays just plain blue. The navigation tabs are showing only in IE.

Looking at the site it is still just a splash page. Are you still working on it?
