Hi All,

I`ve seen discussions about phone services and would like to get personal input for the best service to use if you just want a local number that will be forwarded to your cell phone. I`ve looked into toll free numbers, but after speaking with a rep at D&B thought it would be best to get a local number as our actual "business" number. If we need to, we can also get an additional 1-800 for marketing purposes, etc. The following services that I have researched and have been recommended are:

Access Line
Ring Central (One poster shared that you do not own the local number.)
UReach
Kall8
Skype
VirtualPBX
800PBX

We definitely want to have ownership of our number. Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Thanks and God Bless,

Tyra

Check out Grand Central.  They give you a free number that you can forward to any phone, email, etc.  The company was recently bought by Google and it`s a good service.  I have a number with them.

Camp Steve, thanks for this feedback. I have a number with Grand Central for my other business. However, my concern with Grand Central is because they have not officially offered their services to the masses, I`m wondering the solidity of the company. I want this number to be included on my DUNS profile and important business documents. What are your thoughts about this?

My company provides very low cost virtual office solutions including your own 1-800 number for as little as 9.95 per month.  It is perfect for the small business owner because it makes you sound like a larger more well established business.  Of course I`m just a bit biased on the subject, but check it out .  By the way, this is no contract which is not the easiest thing to find these days and you get to keep your number for ever.

Jason
