On my website, I need to provide an address for my business to gain more credibility.
However, the headquarter of my business is my home, but this is not a home business.

Should I take a PO Box instead of mentioning my home address that anybody could check on google earth?

Is a PO box OK as a headquarter???!!!

Absolutely not. If the purpose of an address is to gain credibility,  a simple P.O. box defeats that purpose.

If you don`t want to give out your home address, rent a P.O. box from the UPS Store or another pack & ship store. Then you can use their address as your own, and your P.O. box automatically becomes a suite #.

For example, ABC1111 Company, 13 Anyplace Ave.,  Suite 123, Anywhere, USA.

Yes, but if a customer check on google earth the address they will see a post-office instead of a residential place. Is it really better???

Actually, I am in-between those options.  The USPO requires the inclusion of "PMB" in the address (Private Mail Box), but many local postmasters ignore that rule.

But, I do use my home address because around here it isn`t unusual for businesses to be run from the home.  However, to make it look like a business address, I add "Suite 26" or something like that.  This way, if I start getting junk mail addressed to Suite 26, I`ll know where it came from.  But it hasn`t happened in five years.

Interesting. Are you sure you receive all your mail by adding Suite 26 to your home address even though there are not suites that exit?

If you don`t want to use that option, then use a registered office service, which will give you a real office address.

PO boxes are for mail. I think it depends, if you`re business is not one that your customers visit, I think it`s just fine.

I`ve used a PO Box as my business address - for reasons of personal security and to not have potential clients/vendors showing up unannounced at my home-based business - for 30 years.  It has not impacted the credibility of my business at all.

The internet as we know it today wasn`t around 30 years ago.  I also used a P.O. box years ago.  But these are different times. Because of the plague of internet scams, a P.O. box can and will affect your credibility and sales.

Potential customers may decide not to buy your product or service because you`re using a P.O. box, and you would never even know it.

Why take the chance?
