It`s happening out here on the West Coast! I have some exciting news to report to the Nation. Before I share the news, here is a quick synopsis of my business.

I am a co-owner of a beverage company (founded in December `05). We manufacture and sell a top-shelf, ginger based, cocktail mix called ELIXIR G. A one sentence elevator pitch is "We make a cocktail mix that compliments your top-shelf spirit."

Here is the news:

Starting today ELIXIR G Ginger Mix will be available nationwide at all P.F. Chang`s restaurants. We are featured on the drink menu with two cocktails. First is "Withered Ginger" A mix of Woodford Reserve Bourbon, ELIXIR G, and soda. Second is "The Bistro`s Ginger Beer" a Kirin Draft with ELIXIR G mixed in.

There is even more. We recently won Best New Beverage and the coveted Best in Show at The Western Food & Hospitality Expo in Los Angeles.

We`ve been working non-stop since day 1 and we are starting to see payoff. Keep up the hard work out there. Sometimes seeds just need time to grow.

I love ginger but I can`t really imagine what a ginger based spirit would taste like. I have a P.F. Chang`s nearby so I guess I`ll have to go check it out and support a fellow SuNster....

May I ask which of the two cocktails mentioned you prefer most?

Woodford Reserve is hubby`s beverage of choice. I think we may have to go to the PF Changs in Durham to check it out.

What`s next? We`ve already begun talking with additional national accounts. Response has been positive but no sales as of yet. We have also begun talks with beverage distributors. Our short term goals are to achieve coverage in Southern California and then expand North & East.

I like the ginger beer.  I compare where we are right now to the first days of people putting a lime wedge in a beer. We will see what the world thinks in a few weeks.

Great timing. We are scheduled to visit Nor-Cal on 11/2 for a trade show and meet with distributors. I gather from your screen name you are a distributor. Feel free to send me a message and we can meet while were up in San Francisco.

I also have some extra passes to the event if you would like to attend.

The structure will depend on what state the venture is incorporated in.  For example in New York, once formed one has to place newspaper ads announcing the name, address and officers of the firm and it can cost up to $2,000 because the county clerks office tells you which papers you have to advertise in.  The internet tax laws also have to be reviewed, when to collect sales tax if any for example.  The name or brand really doesn`t matter, as long as all the terms are clear and the legalities adhered to, a great business plan created and venture capital and angel investors approached.  I would love to join forces with a partner, particulalry one living in New York that has a strong interest in creating a Organic Products online mall, and for the final phase franchising, management experience, terriffic references.
