Can you be a little more specific? Talking about kung pao, peanut satay? Pretty sure I can help but I`m not sure what you`re asking for.

Well, not sure what exactly to call it. We ate at a Chinese Restaurant and on the buffet was a dish called "Peanut Chicken". My sister and I have perused some cookbooks at a couple of different book stores and have not found it. I could do a search on the net, but thought someone might have a previously tested recipe. Let me attempt to describe it. The dish contained strips of chicken breast that were in some sort of breading (not tempura, looked more like an actual bread crumb breading) and it was in a peanut butter type sauce with raw peanuts mixed in. It was delicious. I am sure the sauce actually contains peanut butter, but not sure what else. Last night we ate at a mongolian bar-b-que type restaurant and they had all the fixin`s for peanut chicken but it was awful. Just wondering if anyone actually has a recipe for something like this that they have liked. . .

Yes, I tried a search, didn`t see what I wanted and just thought someone on here might have an already tried recipe, did you find a recipe like what I was looking for? :)

nope, not it. It was in a sauce that looked like runny peanut butter and only had peanuts in it, it is awesome. I think I will just go in and ask, the owner likes my son, maybe I will send him.  :)

Actually, I`ve had a lot of luck doing that---going in and asking for a recipe. In only very rare cases has it been a secret that`s the foundation for the entire restaurant. But very rare. More often, the cook is so pleased to be asked, they`re extra helpful and even with tips on how to cook the meal.

Did you ever have any success doing this?  Asking the owner?  I think I know the peanut chicken that you are referring to and oh my god is it good...  Hunan?  I`ve tried looking all over for the recipe too with very little results.

I have not, unfortunately we don`t get to this restaurant all that often, as soon as we return, I will be checking on it. Isn`t it awesome?
