Hello Everyone. Please contribute your knowledge and advice on building up an online community (social network).

Problem: Users want to join sites that already have users on it already. But how do you get to that point when you have zero users currently?

Any tips and ideas? Please be as specific as possible. I am sure this will help a lot of people.

Right now, i find that all of my traffic/users come from classified ads.

Writing to blogs doesn't help much because when you don't have that many users, they don't really want t write about it. Same goes with social media marketing.. I dont know.. any help?

Why not post a link to your site here on SUN? Do a new forum post, telling us what your site is about and what you want to accomplish. Also, post a link on twitter, facebook, or whatever group you are a member of. Another thing would be to send out an invite to all the people in your email list, asking them to check out your new site. I hope this helps. Good luck.
