Does any one know of, or recommend, any other place for seeking funding?
I have already posted to Go Big Network, Genesis Exchange, Funding Universe (didn`t have a good experience there), and Bread Street.
I`m looking for seven figures, so Prosper is out.

Is the funding for a start up or to expand an existing business?

Funding is for a Start-Up.

I should add that I am looking for an investor, not a financial institution.
Banks are easy to find. :)

What other ways have you tried raising the funds you were looking for? I am noticing investors are getting tighter with their funds unless you have a business that he or she can look at or walk through with financial statements. You may want to check around locally or have business owners subscribe to a business model for future goods as a bartering option.

I have been looking for other options, and have been exploring some of those.

I have not been looking for very long, the main reason I asked for other places to seek funding is that I know I have to place myself in front of as many investors as I can, in order to find the one with the perfect "fit". They are out there, it`s just a matter of finding them.

Can you test the venture in the marketplace before the big money?

Well, it`s a retail store with plenty of market testing already happening everyday. Just not in my area, for the first time in 30 years there is an opening for us and we are taking the leap.

What are the startup cost involved with this new retail store? Could you ecommerce to store before retailing it into a brick and mortar location?

Yes that was an option we considered early on, and decided against. We will have a website, it would be foolish not to these days.

However we are getting off subject here, I`m looking for advice on other places to seek funding / investors.
