This may be a stupid question, but I`m getting ready to finally get to the stage of creating the entity for my business, and I am wondering which comes first:  The chicken or the egg?   No, but seriously, do I Incorporate first, THEN file for my business license or vice versa?  Anddddd... do I need a DBA or can I just operate under the corporate name?  I`m brand new to this and learning as I go.. but nothing will stop me from achieving my goal!  Any and all advice is appreciated.  Thanks!

What type of business license do you need?  I would presume that the license should be in your business` name, so forming your business entity first makes sense (NOTE:  without knowing all of the specifics of your situation, it is impossible to give you a definitive answer).

You can operate under your fictitious name that you used with your business entity, and can elect to use additional DBAs as well, provided that you`ve registered them with your state of business formation.
