Hey
So Big issue right off the start. You don't have any loading feature. When i opened your site i refreshed twice looking for content then checked the source code to make sure a site existed.
When you go to the next tab it takes too long especially without a loading feature.
I find your images are too 'Busy" with multiple layers of images stacking on top of one another.
Stick to readable fonts for everything. your Font and Colors make it difficult to read the text at times.
If I nothing in my cart and i hit checkout it feels like the link is broken. maybe a prompt to tell me that i have nothing in my cart is more appropriate.
Hope this helps!
Hi,
I agree with blastdan that the biggest problem with your site is the loading lag. The user doesn't know what's going on and it feels like the links might be broken. I'm not sure why you chose a Flash site, but I think a lot of this functionality can be done in standard HTML and CSS technologies that wouldn't have this problem.
Your site also feels cramped. On my screen it appears as a box in the centre, with lots of space surrounding it. I think you can afford to increase the page dimensions. This would let you display more items at a time. Your navigation menu also suffers from the small size. Those horizontal links are really the key to users getting around your site, and they feel like a bit of an afterthought. Making them a bit larger, using a consistent font-size for all of the, and giving them some dimension, either shape or background, could go a long way to making the site more professional.
The one last thing I'll mention is that you could link the image of the soap from the landing page to your shopping page. That's one more way for the user to get to your product.
It looks like you have some great products there, but I think an update to the technology and better use of space could give your site a more welcome feel and encourage more customers.
It's a beautiful site. The only thing I have a hard time with is that it's flash based.
It won't index in search engines. Since you have an shopping area, you're going to want to drive as much traffic to that website as possible.
Flash is cool but you might have difficulty indexing your site to search engines.
I would have to agree with others. With the site being all flash based, there should be more of an indication that it's loading. All though going with html/css would still be a great improvement in both speed and user friendliness.
For the text, the backgrounds should be less transparent, it does put a bit more strain on the eyes to read.
The flower background rather removes the indication that this is for soap. My initial thoughts were that this is for flower arrangements.
The ingredients page does include some nice elements to put the description into effect.
I realy like the feel of the site. It is fresh and light, even though at first you are wondering what it is selling... The font color, although fitting very nicely with the general color palette, is too pale and does not stand out enough to be easily readable. The navigation links words look a bit cut off on my laptop screen and I wonder if you could spread them a bit...
I understand that the site is made with Flash, but I still think it needs more content. (Especially if it is not a student work and is intended for real world use). It needs more information about the company itself, about the products, ingredients etc. because as of now it is very impersonal.
