Hello. I am a senior in college and currently work in the healthcare field. i have lots of customer service experience. I live in Northern NJ.

Lately I've been thinking about getting in the online textbook rental or even digital textbooks industry. Companies such as www.Chegg.com, www.campusbookrentals.com, www.digitaltextbooks.com are seriosuly dominating the textbook fields. i saw this article (http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/JustOneThing/story?id=8410226) and it made me think about it even more.

My question is: where do i begin? even on a small scale.

I don't have much of an income, i dont have family/friends to loan me thousands, my credit is getting better/increasing credit. im 25 with one credit card and a leased car. Textbook rentals has saved me lots of money and even when i mention the idea to fellow classmates, they have no idea these companies exist.

One option to get started on a small scale may be to become an affiliate of one or more of the existing services. You would earn commissions from them and would spend most of your time building your web presence and marketing. Once your total business has gotten to a certain point, you could then add your own services to the mix.
