Good morning ,
I`ve been dragging my heals on this incorporating thing for about two years.  My accountant told me that this was the year it needed to be done...so, here goes....

I feel very skeptical about going to a lawyer to do this because I`ve heard such bad stories.  I`ve looked at some of the online options and they seem legitimate.  I did file my own trademark paperwork and that turned out fine.  I know I could do this myself, but frankly, I just don`t want anything else on my plate right now.

Does anyone have any input on some of the more reputable online legal service providers?  I know that American Express was affiliated with Bizfilings and Legalzoom has had strong media exposure.

Has anyone incorporated online and had a good experience with this?  I`m currently a sole proprietor and plan to file as an S-corp.  There will not be anyone else associated with the business except myself.

Will anyone who has been through the incorporating process chime in with any input that might be helpful.  Thanks!

Rich

we promote legalzoom.com`s service from our site. it`s reliable and is often the "private labeled" solution that many of the company incorporation service marketing firms use.

here`s a link to a page inside our site that allows you to link directly over:

thanks for the post - i`m sure a lot of people are considering incorporating just like you...

Hi Renee,

I also offer online incorporation services as well, but unlike LegalZoom and similar sites, my service includes a legal consultation as well.

Cheers,

Hi Renee,

I am in florida & have incorporated more businesses & non-profits than I can count.  You may be able to do it easily yourself.  Many states have online access to check name availability & allow you to file for and pay the fees for the incorporation process.

Let me know if you have any questions - I`m happy to share my experiences.

Regards,

Denise

I`d say either do it yourself or hire a lawyer.  Simply paying somebody online to give no advice and only fill in forms is not money well spent.

I agree with the due it yourself.  Pick up the phone and call you local SBA office. They can walk you through the process.

If you don`t know what type of company to form (LLC, S-Corp, C-Corp, etc.) you may want to get legal advice on that.
