I am interested in opening up a mobile office assistant business. Any advise, feedback?

Find someone who has done it. If you can sit down and speak with someone who has gone through everything you are about to embark on you will thank yourself.

A few questions you need to ask yourself before you go ahead with this venture.

Do you know who your targeting market would include. Is there a need and void for it. What are your experiences in offering small businesses an office assistant.

Once you can answer these questions you can then take it to the next level and start your research on how you would fit in.

We just started the same thing,

We have a video channel about the journey, search for fromscratch78 in youtube

Here are the free software tools that I use:

Firslty http://www.skype.com- chatting, customer service, phone calls.

http://www.billingboss.com/ awesome online invoicing software, just started using it and its free.

http://www.teamlab.com/ this is what I use to track projects and tasks, its similar to basecamp but its also free :)

http://www.timedoctor.com/ this software I use to track tasks and time working on projects, its also a good 'employee monitor' for remote workers.  Free too.

If you havent checked out http://www.snapengage.com/ this is awesome for doing customer service....Have a look at how i use it on this site http://bigiqs.com/ (wait 1 mnute for the proactive chat to come up.  They have a free plan for low users.

If you need any advice, you can find me at admin@bigiqs.com

The sucess of a business often depends on the people who you surround yourself with. So make sure you network with like-minded individuals and don't be afraid to ask for help. It might be wise to consider a business partner, or at least have someone available with a little experience who can provide assistance ;)

An office assistant supports the office staff by doing things like answering phones or running errands. Anyone who wishes to have quality office assistance without the hassles of hiring an employee can benefit from a virtual assistant.
