Only a small number of businesses are suitable for Venture Capital. You need to be making profit already and have the potential to scale to $000s of millions per year. The current economic situation has made getting venture capital much harder.

Unless you can self fund your business to prototype/beta stage and get traction the chances of your business getting off the ground are slim. Business Angels are a better option for early stage companies. Besides in most cases the entrepreneur gets a raw deal from VCs.

I doubt you will be able to find a Venture Capitalist to go in on a startup right now, especially web-based. You are better off getting friends and family to invest. Good luck to you, I hope you get what you are wanting!
