My partner and I run a small high tech/software consulting business. We have been in business for a little over 2 years now and are considering getting a GSA Schedule. Does anyone know where we should start? Should we go about it on our own or is it a better idea to pay someone to go through the whole process? I have seen all types of companies that offer anything from just CD`s to full service costing $15,000.

Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated. Also, if you know of someone who provides this kind of a service, we are willing to look into it.

I was looking for GSA contract work not long ago and happen to find this company called GSA1000. I called the number on this a web site I found, (800) 300-4753, and was put into a customer service person (I think her name was Dominica), anyway, she was able to put me in touch with Martina Reed, a GSA specialist. Martina was very helpful and was certified with creditable certifications to do this kind of work. I don`t know if you have looked into the process of getting involved with GSA work, but the paperwork is ridiculous. It`s like doing your taxes with the long form for every year of your life all at once. I wouldn`t recommend doing it yourself. Who quoted you at $15,000? I didn`t spend nearly that much! 

My dad owns a welding business and he did something like this. Originally, he was going to do it himself, but the paperwork is time consuming and confusing.
