Not sure what is going on everywhere else, but gas has jumped to over $5.00 a gallon here in Michigan. There is a big line at the station where we live that hasn`t raised it yet! What is everyone else seeing and hearing?

We were down around $3.69. Just south of us it is up between $5.15 and $5.29 a gallon.

One of the gals I work withs hubby called about 20 min ago and said it was $5.25 at one of the stations and still low at another in town, but, the line was so long that he got tired of waiting and is just going hom. My sister just called telling me to go home the back way. The police are directing traffic at 3 of the gas stations in town where we live. . .

OPEC just cut production. Gas was $3.89 last week, now it`s $4.04.

And yet everywhere in the mainstream media we hear that Sarah Palin wold be our worst nightmare as a VP. Even though she wants to open up the Alaskan oil fields and improve America`s energy independence.

Let`s just elect Mr. Obama, never drill for any oil, let gas prices go to $10.50/gallon and "see what happens." Then if we`re not happy, we can "go back" and elect Mr. McCain and see what happens. We can choose which way we`d like to go based on "seeing what happens."

Drilling for oil may solve the problem for the next 3 years of our lives but it is not a solution by any means.  Consumption is way greater than any possible discovery rates.  Not to mention the environmental impact it will have on the rest of the world.

We need to invest in alternative energy, Obama is willing to do that.  Why won`t GM sell it`s more fuel-efficient car in the US?  Because the oil industry is too strong to allow it.

Sarah Palin / John McCain is the worst thing you can do if you want to lower fuel prices.  The price is raised because of the weakening dollar that Bush created with a oh-so efficieint "War on Terror", so spending more will only make it worse.

Yeah, eating dinner will maybe solve my energy problems for the next day or two, but it isn`t a long-term solution. We need an alternate energy source for human life. In the mean time, let`s just stop eating dinner.....since it won`t do anything in the long term.

What`s gasoline?  I ride a bicycle.  The cost of pedal power remains steady at $0.
