Well i`m brand new to startup nation and need some help. I`m looking to get into the gold business (jewelry) and  I`m having a hard time finding suppliers. I`ve found plenty of middlemen but I really want to deal directly with the supplier. How do I find out who the jewelry stores buy from? Should I try overseas? Any and all help will be appreciated. Thank you.

There was a jewelry wholesaler over in the Middle East who was trying to find someone to retail their jewelry here. I can`t remember their name, but perhaps you might find them if you search on "jewelry" or wholesale?

Also, be specific about what you are trying to do.  Will you be responsible for shaping and molding the gold into jewlery pieces or are you looking to buy the already prepared pieces?. Hope this help.

I just heard an interesting note on the Wall Street Journal report, with an analysis of the way "rich" people spend money. It turns out that people in America spend money more on planes, boats, houses, and collectibles. Although there is some investment in art, "collectibles" tend to be things like a baseball with high value, or perhaps a movie prop used in a famous movie.

Americans tend to develop interests when they`re younger, then when they accumulate wealth, expand those same interests but buying more expensive items.

In Asia and the Middle East, apparently wealthy people tend to spend money much more on jewelry and items that can be worn. Of course they also spend money on planes, boats, and mansions, but there`s a much higher percentage interest in jewelry.

:-) Thought I`d throw that in, since it had a connection to jewelry.

Hello SuN community

I have started a cleaning service and I need some help in the field of proposal writing I have tried the internet for assistance and I have also been to my local libraries but I have not found anything that has helped me a whole lot in writing my proposal. Finding someone to do it for me would be the ideal situation but that is not an option because my funds are limited.

I also want to know if anyone has any experience in Final Phase Clean Out for Construction sites. I have a couple of places that I am going to visit in my area in the next few weeks and I need some pointers on landing the deal.

If there is anyone out there that could help me with any one of the two topics or both I would be so grateful.

Thanks

Let`s take the proposal thing first: What is it you`re proposing to do? Suppose you`ve called me and set up an appointment. Why did you call me---what sort of business or situation do I own or run that fits your profile?

I`ve set up a short meeting with you, and you`re coming in on a Monday morning to discuss your business. What would you like to have as your "proposal?" Don`t try to write it, just discusss it as if we were talking in a coffee shop. :-)
