Ok you guys give him advice to go with SMF forum, but does he know that starting a forum is hardest thing of them all.
On forum you need to post, if there are no posts, people wont post or read or ever come back.

So IMO now when there are many forums, making a forum is pain in the a**.
I spend 3 years and lots of money on my forum/portal.
http://www.cashtalk.org/ and its not even anything special.

So i suggest hire a writer and start small wordpress website.

I agree, sound like a forum will work for you... and they might be included with your hosting package.

Nowadays having a website an effective way to share thoughts, promote your business or simply publish your photos online. Whether it will be a personal blog, forum or a family gallery creating a website has never been easier before! Nice resources !!
