When I read the post "Linux Server Book Recommendations?" in the "Build a Website that Works" section it got me thinking that there isn`t a generic section for IT questions. Perhaps we need somewhere people can post questions like "Do I need a server?" or "Help!! My network printer stopped working and my IT guy has gone to Australia"

I think it would be a great idea --  especially for those of us who need answers to questions of all kinds regarding computers.  You have my vote to make a separate forum section.

Nice idea. Anyone else think this warrants its own forum category?

YES, YES, YES! I am not techy at all and would love a spot to bounce a question off someone.

Just this morning, I had to tell a fellow member that I am mailing some marketing material samples to, that I could not get my printer working properly so I am sending the materials, with a note (they really just need to see how the package is put together, so we are ok). UGH! I don`t think I am getting the right drivers downloaded. Just got a new computer and I am transferring data and stuff over and getting it all hooked up in a new office. If I can get the printers up and running and get the new email working right I will be all set!

I think so, it would enable those gurus a place to answer the dumb people like me`s questions.

Dip Lady,
transfering your Data to another computer doesn`t mean you are transfering all your drivers. If you want your printer to work properly install the drivers and software on your new computer.
Im assuming you were running windows XP with Server Pack 2 correct? Whats in your new system?

I think that an IT section could help a lot of people. However, the description should say , " Google before you post." Most questions in a general IT help forum have already been answered a hundred times over.
