Greetings All! New and confused with where to start with all the questions, ideas and dreams dancing around in my head. Long story short - own an incredible piece of property that I wish to develop into a complete and total " new age " ( GREEN ) facility showcasing the ability to be in harmony with the environment. What I`m wanting is something kinda like " Extreme Home Makeover " Investors. Where to start?? Thanks, Yvonne

Hi Yvonne :-) Welcome to the Startup Nation (SuN) world.

Everyone`s confused! Just so you feel more comfortable.

If you own a piece of property, do you intend to build a showcasse of this type of home? If so, that`ll give you the entire basis for your startup. Keep a written and photographic diary, then when you build a Web site, you can use all that stuff on the site.

On the other hand, if you`re not going to have a physical building, why mention the property? In other words, how about a bit more detail on what it is you want to accomplish? Is it a business based on a demonstration, or a business in general as to "being green," whatever that means.

Go after the companies that do this kind of thing to get them to donate all the "parts". For example, my mom (a structural engineer) makes buildings out of these crazy new kind of "cement blocks" which are lighter than my laptop and made out of some space-agey new material. They are a growing company and might want some PR. In addition, there are probably firms like my mom`s that want to showcase their green-ness by putting their name on the project for national recognition. So go find companies like that ... solar power, energy, energy-efficient appliances, organic landscaping companies or garden centers (we have an awesome one near me that has all organic soils and crops), whatever you can think of to put this together.
