Hey Guys,
Check out the website for our new startup! We build and install home theater computers. Please give me some tips and criticisms. It is still under construction, but the gist of it is there.

Thanks!

Nothing too constructive here, just wanted to say I dig it.  I always like to see pricing for services so I know before calling, then again I don`t have it on my own site, I get why you don`t do that as a best practice.  Overall looks sharp, finish it up and start promoting the hell out of it.

Thanks for the input! I will actually have some basic systems priced on the site. But, the core of my business is fully customized Home theater PC`s. I build to fit in with each customer`s entertainment center/ home theater.
Thanks again,
Justin

When I loaded the site on my computer, it loaded slowly with strips of the pictures on the page showing up after each other.  I have a really high connection speed, and i know that people these days are impatient so, you might want to see what you can do about that.  I think it has largely to do with how many images you have on your page.  If you here: http://websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/ and enter your website in at the top and hit "submit query", it`ll show you how many images you have that are trying to load at once.  Scroll down to the bottom of the page after you hit submit, and it will give you an analysis of your site.  It had quite a few warning messages when i did it.  Hopefully that helps :)

Thanks, Couponier and Imprezzio, I see what you mean. I may ask my web designer to look for an alternative scripting for the the graphics, but for now I want to finish the site. I noticed the lagging as well. As far as the site counter, I am still not sure if I like it or not. But, if the site continues to get hits like it has been, there may not be such a big issue.
Your expert advise is greatly appreciated! Keep checking back to see the content, please.

Your home page (as you know) is essentially an image file (a bunch of images pieced together).
This is why it loads as it does. But the significant problem with this approach is that there is no text content for search engines to "read".

The alt image tag for each of the image slices is "gossimopro.com". This is a waste of alt image tags because it is your domain name and the domain name will affect search results more than your alt image tags.

Using images for your menu items is not the best (text would be better for SEO), but again the alt image tag should at least be the name of the link - like "catalog".

Also, the "home" button is not easily seen.

My suggestion would be to rework the whole site so that your content is text not images.
This can be done with out losing the "look" / graphics of the site. IF this is not done, your site will have significant challenges trying to get good search results.

~Roland

PS. I see that your web designer uses the same image slicing on his/her home page.

Justin,

For better examples of sites in your industry, please note the following:

http://www.audiolifestyles.com
http://www.absolutehomecinema.com/
http://www.etihometheaters.com/ -- note that this is built on Wordpress template (not great, but they make it work simply)

With a nod to Roland for his sound and sincerely kindly offered advice, as always, I too recommend a total re-do.  The current design has too many built in flaws.

Best of luck.

Thank you for all of your advice. It is truly appreciated. While, I can`t do a total redo at this point, I have made some modifications with your hints in mind. Please let me know if you think it is an improvement. I am still working to complete the site, and your input is highly valued.
Thanks again,
Justin

The people above are right, but I would add that you need a better domain name.  It should be a name that people will associate with the subject of the site, in this case home theaters, and that is memorable.  You want a name that someone may see on a billboard while driving and remember it two weeks later when their sitting down at their computer and happen to think about maybe getting a home theater system.
