I would like some feedback on my new website. There is not much I can do about structure, as I used a template from godaddy.com.

Before starting this website, I did not have a clue about SE optimization, PR, and other guidelines regarding solid website designing.    It is my intent to get a professional site as soon as I can; however, I am hoping to generate traffic to this site so I can get things moving.

Any feedback relative to assisting me is developing a well-defined site is welcome.

I think you an excellent candidate for Your New Website, in One Hour.

You can use the same procedures to add "TypePad Pages" to your site that would allow you to build the content you have now on a page with better organization. I say this because you have some good copy in there, and you get across the benefits of your services well ... but the wrapping navigation bar, dueling columns, and squished picture at the top is just distracting your readers from your message.

Hey Jackie,
I think what yo want is to just make that landing page as professional looking as possible. I noticed that the main graphic with the doctors standing about is resized disproportionally. You might want to start with the original image again, and shrink it so that it maintains the right proportions.

More suggestions on the way.

Thanks for the feedback…

Prex  - I do not have an option to resize the picture, I know what you are saying and I feel the same way.  However, resizing images with godaddy.com is not a manual process, you can only select three options for sizing images, and the other two did not work at all.  One cut the heads completely off and the other was in thumbnail format.

Nikole -  I am researching the information provided in “Your New Website, in One Hour”.  I am particularly impressed with the TypePad Pages.  I joined the 14-day trial and have been working the program.  I love the overall presentation, the type and images are professional looking.  Additionally, the images have so much clarity.

I am going to follow through the entire 14 days with TypePad and evaluate the result.  I also started a Flickr account.

Thanks

I love the benefit list by the way - so clearly tells your customer WHY they need YOU. Perfect!

If you can get any testimonials from people about your services, work ethic, whatever ... I think those would be a very good thing to post as well. This type of business has a lot of trust involved.

Nikole,

You are absolutely correct  about  the “trust factor”, which is why I am going to soon start posting on the Marketing Forum for advice.  The thing is, I don’t have a client yet and all marketing affords to date have not been successful.  However, since finding SuN, I am feeling a lot better about creating a strong marketing campaign.  I now have a website, a blog, and based on the resources here, I will have first page advertising with yellowpages.com in my local area. So I am feeling hopeful, I should have it all pulled together in about 2 – 3 weeks.

Also, while creating my blog in TypePad, I came across Google Blogger where I was able to create a blog free of charge.  It took only an hour just as you highlighted in your blog and though I don’t have a clue yet about the blogging environment, it was an easy application to follow and the presentation looks better than my website.

I do not think it is created correctly, I am still in research mode, but I like it a lot already. Thanks for the advice.

Hi Jackie :-)
I measured the doctor picture to be 220 pixels wide by 160 pixels high. Take your original photo, and in some image editor, crop it to a multiple of the above. When you upload it, and the site resizes it, it`ll maintain the right aspect ratio.

For your mission statement, right now it`s a white box, with the text only having a brown background. If you can control that, either get rid of the brown back color; change the whole box to brown background; or leave it white with black text.

The second thing is that it`s full justified and looks bizarre. Make it center justified, and I think it`ll look a bit nicer. My opinion...

I`d also edit that mission statement to focus on the *new* mandataory electronic billing conversions. Most people know about billing companies, but the major headache right now is the mandatory Medicaid and Medicare (I think?) conversion. Do you have contacts who you can bring in to help on the technical side of things in a physician office? If not, that`s okay...just wondering.

You might also consider pushing what it is you offer, with a statistical reference? For instance:
Remit Medical Billing Services is your outsourcing solution for medical electronic claims billing. Fully HIPPA  compliant, we process claims for Medicare & Medicaid, as well as traditional and commerical billing. Our outstanding rejection and claim follow-up often can increase your revenue stream by ??% per month.

There`s gotta be a way you track down an average percentage for your previous amalgam of clients, right? The focus being an offer in hard dollars usually trumps a generic offer of professional services done well.

Everyone expects a business to do a good job, so referencing it is redundant.

Wow, that came out pretty good with blogspot.

I`ll "let" you use blogspot on 2 conditions:
1) You don`t use it as a blog.
2) You use and promote your own domain name, www.remitbilling.net to use with this account ... which I`m pretty sure they let you do, no?

Both of these items have to do with portability and growth.

I really appreciate the good advice.

GraigL, you provided such a detailed analysis and I thank you.  I have tried to work with the picture, but my options are limited.  The image is interfaced into my site much higher, however, is sized automatically and I have only three options, what you see is the best that I could do.  I called godaddy for assistance regarding your suggestions, but templates are so  limited that my creativity was hindered.  Not complaining, at least I have a present on the internet, and as soon as I get revenue, getting a professionally built site is high on my priority list.  I also wanted to change the wrapping navigation bar that Nikole pointed out, which was always an eyesore with me, but that is something I have to live with as well.

Nikole, I now have the blog linked to my domain name, www.remitbilling.net , the blog address is “blog.remitbilling.net”.  Hope I did it correctly, I not sure.

I will be posting in "Building a Website that Works" forum very soon and hopefully get a better understanding on how to rank higher.

Again, thanks so much!!!

Jackie

I am having the most difficult time identifying key words that would work for my site. Any suggestions on this matter. Thanks for your response.
