StartupNation.com users have been telling us what they want and we’ve been listening.

Now you shall receive! The new StartupNation.com is days away from being introduced, including improved navigation!!

Here’s a smattering of some of the requests StartupNation regular users have made:

“Give me a great sense of the huge amount of stuff available without overwhelming me.”

“Show us fresh new stuff every day.”

“Let us login or create a free member profile on the homepage. Oh, and do that on every page in case I decide to login or register from another page.”

“Guide us through the site with a global navigation that appears on every page on the site.”

Well, you’ll be glad to know, we’ve been hard at work and have something to show for it – the new StartupNation.com look, feel, and functionality.

A big thanks goes to all of you who participated in surveys and usability testing, sent in unsolicited feedback and recommendations, and helped us give you more of what you want and need for success as entrepreneurs.

Wanna sneak peek? Here’s how it looks.

So what do you want next?

There is a lot of more new stuff on the way in the coming months.

Like all of you startups and small businesses, we never rest in our goal to bring you the greatest value possible.

What are the top 3 things you want us to roll out next?

I would agree that having an easier way to see which threads I posted in that are updated would be nice. Somehow combined with the new threads section?

Right now I have to click on my handle, and then scroll down, click on view all my posts ... it`s kind of a pain to do this several times in one session.

Oww...I like that idea...MY Startup Nation! Very cool idea! It would be nice to be able to go back quckly to threads I have posted in in the past and quickly grab something even if nothing has been said there for a while. I lose track of those threads so easily cuz there are so many these days!

Nikole...

I agree with you and until they implement easier access to those threads,
here`s a trick I use to avoid click, scroll, click.

I`ve bookmarked the page that brings up my recent threads, which is the
first page I like to view when I visit SuN. And I can access that bookmark
the various ways that a browser lets you do so these days. Most of the
time I start typing "sta..." in the browser and it picks that page which is
the quickest way for me.

But it would be great to just have a single, more accessible button to get
to those threads. I like that idea.

Hi Joel:

I think the new site looks great. I have two suggestions: I would add forums to the tabs and I would have a little search box inside the tabbed areas.

It would also be great to have a dropdown menu next to the main Search box to allow searching of specific areas, like Forums, Articles, Blogs, etc. Plus, having an advanced search button like before would be great. I think those are coming, but I thought I`d just mention it in case others have related ideas to contribute. Search is such an important part of the experience.

Keep up the great work!

I agree. Very much so!

I am new and find it very odd that the forum is so hard to use. I am used to
other sites where you can tell what is new, set some threads to ignore (no
interest in the topic) and other facilities.

Presently I am using the notify option but I would rather just have a favorites
or home page that reflects my present interests. I definitely do not enjoy
mail messages saying something has changed.
