Hi friends.

We have totally redesigned our old website at www.qoof.com. We plan on launching it in about two weeks.

You can see it here: www.beta.qoof.com

The site is about using video to sell products. If you have a product or service you are selling we allow you to upload your video of that product or service and link the "buy it now" button to your products check out page.

If you don`t have a product, but are an affiliate, you can create a video and link it to your affiliate code.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback you can give me before launch!

Thanks so much!

School me on this concept a little - it`s not coming across on the site. I see the lady, but what`s the deal? I read your about page, and I still don`t get the "what`s in it for me" principle of it.

The message I want to get across is that this is a site where you can view videos of products or services you are looking for that will then link to the checkout page. We give you all the information of the product inclucing video, pictures, comments and reviews. If you are selling an item, you can upload a video of that item and link it to your website.

The about us page and products page is not finished yet.

I am open and NEED suggestions :)

Well then you need to convey what you just told me.

Make something cute, a little box on the top right:

What`s Qoof?
We`re bringing you the best in product information through videos.

Or whatever.

And then a page targeted towards the sellers making these videos somewhere else, probably something like "Interested in Featuring your Products on Qoof?"

I get it.

I like the site design and it flows well.  I DON`T like that the intro video runs itself every time I hit the page.  This is very poor etiquette.

Your introductory video suffers from poor audio due to using the on-camera microphone.  Spend $40-50 on a lavaliere microphone and your videos will sound more professional.

For those who don`t get it..  You probably couldn`t use the service offered and no amount of explanations would change that.  I could be wrong, but Google: Click-to-play video ads for AdWords.  Your service sounds similar but complementary to this offering from Google.

I`m glad you get it from an advertiser`s perspective.

My point is that it doesn`t make sense from a buyer`s perspective. When I go there as a buyer, I`m thinking, "What is this and why am I here?" People don`t want to think ... they will just click off. Anyone should be a buyer, not just people who you think "would use the service offered" ... and there are MANY non-technical sellers out there. If it`s not easy to use and easily understandable, you`re not making the sale in regards to the advertisers. If you have no one to sell to, ie the buyers don`t get it either, there`s no reason to advertise there.

I thought the video explanation was a little long.  I lost interest and clicked on something before she could finish.  I think she needs to paraphrase the service or split up the message into a few videos.  Have links like "See what Rebecca (that was her name, right?) has to say about affiliate marketing" or something like that.

Use video to quickly hook the viewer but let people explore your service on their own time.  Don`t make them sit through a minute or so video.

Otherwise the look of the site is pretty good.  You didn`t go overboard with colors or long paragraphs.  It`s slick and easy to look at.  But I might suggest that the thumbnails on the bottom half of the homepage need a little more written content so you know what that video is about.

It`s funny because I got the video the first time apparently, but my sound was off and i never heard it.

And now I just keep getting some marshmellow gun. I guess I have to go back and look and figure out how to get the lady back?

(And if you missed the point of the site because your sound it off, something is wrong!)

I don`t keep the sound off but I know a lot of people do, especially in offices.  And I couldn`t go back and see her message again either.  I get the marshmellow vid too.  Is that for only first time visitors?  What if I wanted to see the video again, or show it to someone?

Videography above made the comment about the video automatically playing.  I agree and think video content should be an opt-in by the user.

Thank you all for your comments.

I guess the first thing we need to figure out is this site for "end users" that want to buy something and want to watch a video demo first. Or is this site for "Advertisers" that want to use the power of video to sell their products and services.

For now I believe the focus is on the "Advertisers" since we need to build content before "buyers" will come to the site anyway.

One of the most important things we want to convey is that you can take any of these videos and embed them on your website, blog, or Social Networking site to increase sales. Was this missed by everybody?

Again, thanks for your replys, I need all the help we can get!
