Well I am sure many of you have heard this one before, I have always wanted
to start my own company and now I am at the point where I think I am ready
to do it but I am scared to death. I am looking to start a company selling and
installing zero-clearance fireplaces focusing my efforts on new constrution
and targeting builders and remodelers. I know the housing market is
slowing down so I don`t know if I am shooting myself in the foot. The full
time job I currently have requires alot of over time so I would have to quit
the job in order to put all my effort into the adventure. Can any one give me
any guidance and suggestions?

If  I were you I will not quit my job and start a business in a market like today`s. I would suggest you hire some one part time to start marketing it for you and you provide the guidance and expertise. See how it goes and determine the situation after a few months.
