Hello! I am in the process of opening a bakery/coffee store called The Joyful Bakkerij (Dutch for "bakery") in the Hellam/Wrightsville, PA area. I'm starting small, selling through a friend's deli hopefully while keeping my day job, before getting my own place and starting for real.
Here's my current issue (I have NO idea what I'm doing, I've never taken a class or read a book on business--but I did just order the SuN book off Amazon!): while selling out of my friend's deli, which is established, does anyone know about laws/regulations regarding doing the baking in my own house? Do I have to get an inspection done of my kitchen? I have a dog and a cat, so I realize that's an issue, but I don't want to have to jump straight to renting my own building just because of that. I really need advice! Thanks!!!
