Wow what an amazing business to be starting up!
There are great books on "marketing to kids". They are not shy about telling you what they think ... Just thinking your marketing awareness is going to come from write ups and things outside a kid just stumbling on you (imagine reading it in the local paper, how does it roll off your tongue, when a parent or teacher reads it out loud; logos are cool for product brands, but I think you want words and the fewer the better especially when it comes to signage and recall).
Young Writer`s Studio ... I like Workshop better than studio; I wouldn`t worry right now about when/if you have to change as you`ll know it`s needed and it will provide you some positive marketing too ... "we`re growing, changing, expanding, etc."
Innovations (Does it make sense?) Not really
Storybook Studio (Is it too young? Will it turn off boys?) Maybe but if you`re market is parents who want to see their children in an environment where they can progress from what they do at home/school it might have good appeal (and ditto on the workshop vs. studio especially for the "boys")
Word Up (???) Yeah very "rad dude" ... might be anti-parent and doesn`t really say a lot about what you`re creating. Would be like doing a txt message name; hard to pull these off without the kids feeling like you`re just trying to be cool/hip.
Wondrous Words (Too flowery?) Yes; and kind of more bookstore; a collection of great books kind of offerings; maybe if you could get "your" or something self-directed into it.
All the Rage (Will they get it?) I don`t get it (and see next one)
Bottega (means the studio of a master artist) I like it as it has a "cottage" feel to it, but I`d worry about if you have to "define" what you mean then it takes more time and attention away from what you`re doing and offering ... we get a lot of "what" about our "Tiger Taco" product and that`s not always a great thing; better to have that perfect name!
Story Boutique (Too girly?) Yeah kind of and maybe too "old" for even girls; kind of like the wonderful words one where it "sounds" more like a place to buy vs. create (give birth) words.
The Inkwell (???) Kind of old-school; we`re lucky kids even know what a book is these days; can`t imagine they`ll get the historical reference.
Hand Cramps
Brainiac Studios (I know! LOL ... these are just playing off my pea brain)
The Write Zone (thinking zones and areas gives you some niche areas to mkt)
Blank Sheets and more (lame; but kind of sounds like shi.....)
The Creative Cave (cavern, lame too!~)
Your Paper Garden (not sure if you`re more about being a cool book store or a place to grow the writer within and perhaps hooking up with the illustrator within too ... you could do your own titles and calendars and greeting card lines from your youngsters; also comic books; can give you lots of event/theme marketing stories for marketing)
Write Brain _____
yada, yada, yada (too old and tired! just saying l8ter ... great business concept! Looking forward to hearing more and seeing how it goes for you!)
